PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani awarded Swabi Police on excellent performance against terrorist/target killers involved in killing of several government officials in a ceremony held at CPO Peshawar Monday.
According to details the other day Swabi police received information about the presence of some terrorist group at Dwa Lary near Kalabat. The police party rushed to the spot and was to in-circle the venue.
Meanwhile, the terrorists threw a hand grenade on police party due to which constable Hammad sustained serious injuries. The police party also retaliated and exchange of fire continued for almost 45 minutes in which both the terrorists were killed. Two SMGs with fix chargers, 100 rounds, two 30 bore pistols, two live hand grenades and one used hand grenade were recovered from their possessions.
It is worth mentioning that both the terrorists had martyred polio team district incharge doctor Yaqoob, wild life guard Mushtaq, driver of Additional Session Judge Haripur and seven police officials including two traffic sergeants.
Addressing on the occasion the IGP Nasir Khan Durrani appreciated the bravery showed by the jawans at the risk of their precious lives added that the terrorist had created a state of panic and terror by continuously targeting the government officials on different occasion.
The IGP informed by killing the most dreaded terrorist/target killers the people of the province in particular and especially people of Swabi were indebted to Swabi police for their heroic deeds.
The Police chief was very much impressed from the courage and gallantry acts of injured constable Hammad by keeping him close to his chest for sometimes and showered great tributes on his bravery full of extra-ordinary courage and termed him real asset of the force.
The IGP awarded SDPO Topi Shah Mumtaz Khan, SHO PS Topi Sub Inspector Sultan Mehmood Khan, Additional SHO PS Topi Sub Inspector Iltaf Khan, Injured constable Hammad and constable Mir Azim with cash prizes and commendation certificates.
