Fifteen coal miners died when Methane gas exploded in a coal mine in Sinjdi coal mine field some 50km off here on Tuesday, Chief Mines Inspector Maqbool Ahmed told APP by phone from site of the accident.
The explosion occurred around 4.30 pm in the coal mine owned by United Minerals.
The chief mines inspector said that two bodies of the workers had been recovered, while work was in progress to retrieve other bodies.
When asked if there was any chance of survival of the missing workers, he said, such a chance usually remained remote when gas exploded in a coal mine.
