Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Sunday said that government is striving to present a welfare-oriented and people-friendly budget.
Speaking at the meeting of unified Pakistan Muslim League here, the Prime Minister said the budget will reflect the policies and priorities of the government with regard to providing relief to the common man.
Jamali said the budget will also carry measures for investment promotion. He said the Finance Minister would also brief the PML office bearers soon.
The meeting which was held here at the Prime Minister's House reviewed the political situation and discussed matters relating to the party's reorganisation. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the party president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and was also attended by Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, MNA.
Later, the meeting was joined by newly appointed Vice Presidents and other leaders included Minister for Religious Affairs, Ejaz-ul-Haq, Hamid Nasir Chattha, Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, former Justice Abdur Razzaq Thaheem and Information Minister Sh. Rashid Ahmad, besides Provincial Minister Abdur Rehman Jamali.
The meeting discussed matters pertaining to the forthcoming budget. Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz briefed the participants on the budgetary proposals.
The Prime Minister took the participants into confidence regarding the forthcoming budget.
Later, the Prime Minister hosted a lunch in honour of the participants.
