Higher Education Commission (HEC) is holding a two-day workshop on "Curriculum Linkages" at Department of Bio-Sciences, University of Balochistan from June 1-2.
The major objective of the workshop is to discuss different issues related to the curriculum of the disciplines of Life Sciences at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, said a press release here on Sunday.
The faculty members of the schools, colleges and Universities of Quetta who are involved in teaching of biology, genetics, microbiology and molecular biology have been invited to participate in the workshop.
After thorough discussion on the theme, appropriate recommendations would be proposed by the experts and conclusions would be drawn to strengthen the discipline in our education sector.
The core group of Life Sciences has been constituted by the HEC comprising of Life Sciences educators and researchers to promote the education and research in the field.
For the purpose a separate secretariat of Biosciences has been established at HEC to take care all aspects of the discipline being taught at public and private sector universities and institutions of higher learning in the country.
Dr Safdar Ali Kayani, a senior member of core group of Life Sciences and chairman, Department of Botany, University of Balochistan will chair all the sessions of the workshop.
HEC announced that it would facilitate the participants with most modern skills of the discipline.
