The coming Federal Budget would be people- friendly as there were 12.5 million dollars reserves with the government and many facilities would be provided to the common people and the environment for more foreign as well as local investments.
This was stated by State Minister for Environment, Major Tahir Iqbal (Retd) while addressing at meet the press programme at Chakwal Press Club on Sunday.
The minister was briefed about the various departments of the Chakwal Press Club by Secretary General Kh. Babar Saleem and told that the establishment of the library was dire need of the club.
The minister was of the view that re-unification of all the factions of Pakistan Muslim League was a good sign and it would pave the way for strengthening the democratic culture in Pakistan.
He said that he had electrified 56 villages of his constituency during the past one and a half-year from his development fund while the work on 19 other remaining villages was under process.
He further said that 6 new dams would be constructed at Village Ratta, Khai, Noorpur Sethi, Ghaazyal, Dharabi and Mundi and after the completion of these dams, a green revolution would dawn in this barani area of district Chakwal.
The minister further said Cadet College Chakwal would be constructed with the cost of Rs 230.8 millions and Punjab government as well as Federal Government would allocate funds for this mega project in the coming budge while the foundation stone laying ceremony would be held in September this year.
Replying to a question he said his ministry got 30 million dollars aid from donor agencies for the improvement of environment of Pakistan while another aid of 7.8 million dollars was in the pipeline.
Replying to another question he said three more new environment courts would be established in Pakistan as two were functioning at the moment.
The minister justified the Wana operation and termed it as to fulfill the commitment of Pakistan to eliminate terrorism from the country.
