Judge Arshad Noor Khan of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Karachi on Monday refused to extend police remand of as many as six activists of banned Harkatul Mujahideen Al Alami, arrested week back in explosive cases, and directed investigation officer to submit charge sheets against them on June 7, 2004, 2004.
Investigation officer today sought extension of further physical remand of accused but their request was turned down by court observing no sufficient ground for extension of remand has been made out.
After rejection of application the accused were sent to jail custody.
Naveed Hamid, Imran Khan, Muhammad Abid, Syed Khurram Shahab, Muhammad Nasir and Muhammad Amir were arrested by police on May 23 in raid conducted at house in Kalakot area Lyari Karachi. Police also recovered huge quantity of explosives, arms and ammunition from house.
