Punjab Auqaf Department is planning to set up an education university with a view to promoting religious as well as most modern technical and scientific education.
Provincial Auqaf and Religious Affairs Minister Sahibzada Syed Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah stated this, while talking to various deputation's during his visit to Faisalabad.
Divisional Khateeb Maulana Zahoor Ahmad Salik, District Manager Auqaf Chaudhry Mohammad Rafique and Ulema belonging to different schools of thought were also present on the occasion.
The minister said that in connection with the setting up of university of higher education, the matters relating to syllabus, teaching departments, selection of the site and other important factors were being reviewed and after finalising the entire matter the work on this project would be started.
He said that the religious seminaries were the fountainheads of knowledge and vision and were playing an active role in spreading light of knowledge and education.
He said by providing the students with the opportunities of getting modern scientific and technical knowledge along with the teaching of Quranic and religious education, they could be successfully enabled to face the global challenges in the field of science and technology.
He said for this very purpose the facilities of the latest and higher education were being provided in the model 'Madaris'.
The minister said that action was being taken against illegal occupants of property of Auqaf Department.
He asked the public to point out the "Qabza mafia" so that Auqaf's property could be utilised for real objectives.
He said that the saints and great religious personalities had showered such beautiful rays of well-being and goodness for showing the right and bright path to the Muslim Ummah which would keep the hearts and minds of the people radiant for all the times to come.
He said that the honour, dignity and maintenance of graves and Mazars of those great saints and religious personalities could never be ignored. The minister directed the officers of his department to further enhance the performance of the department by carrying out their duties honestly so that all the administrative and reformative steps could be made result-oriented.
He asked the Khateebs to accelerate their practical efforts for maintaining religious harmony and tolerance among all the sects and ensuring the peaceful environment of fraternity and brotherhood.
