University of Management and Technology (UMT) thanked the Punjab Governor, Chief Minister and Education Minister on awarding the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM)/Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) the university status.
Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector UMT, said that the Punjab Assembly unanimously adopted the University of Management and Technology (UMT) bill 2004 on May 31, upgrading IMT as a full-fledged chartered university. He said that we started 15 years ago as ILM to contribute to the fields of education, training and research.
"Today, by the grace of Almighty Allah and efforts of the team, ILM after achieving many milestones has reached the zenith as a University," he added.
He congratulated the students, alumni, faculty and staff on the award of university charter and expressed his resolve that UMT would further advances in the fields of education, training and research and would continue to provide professionals with a leadership edge for the progress of the country.
He assured that they would do their utmost to establish UMT at par with the international standards and expectations of the stakeholders.
UMT was going to start construction of its own purpose-built campus shortly, he added.
