Factory gate prices in the eurozone rose by 0.4 percent in April from March, propelled by higher costs for energy and intermediate goods, the European Union's statistics office said on Wednesday.
Compared with April last year, producer prices in the 12-nation bloc rose by 1.4 percent as the cost of intermediate goods rose 2.2 percent and energy prices by 1.5 percent.
The monthly rise was in line with forecasts, while the annual rise was slightly above economists' forecast for a 1.35 percent rise.
In the 25-nation EU, producer prices also rose by 0.4 percent during April for an annual rise of 1.7 percent, Eurostat said.
