India should define parameters of its dialogue with Kashmiri leadership to prove its sincerity in resolving the long-running Kashmir issue, said Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, secretary-general, World Kashmir Freedom Movement here on Thursday.
He stated this while addressing a news conference along with the representatives of all UK-based Kashmiri political parties, ahead of one-day international Kashmir peace conference, being held in Birmingham on June 6.
"India has to define the parameters of talks with Kashmiris", and must include Kashmiri leaders like Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Yasin Malik and Mehbooba Mufti to gave credence to such an exercise, said Dr Fai, who flew in here from Washington to attend the conference.
The purpose of the conference is to evolve a an strategy for a meaningful and permanent resolution of the Kashmir conflict, reflecting the aspirations of the people of occupied Kashmir.
Kashmiri leaders from both sides of the Line of Control have been invited to attend the conference.
Other Kashmir leaders present on the occasion included Professor Zafar Khan of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Maulana Mohammad Bostan Qadri of the International Kashmir Co-ordination Committee, UK; Basharat Khan from Jamaat-e-Islami, Jammu and Kashmir, Professor Nazir Shawal from Justice Foundation, Mohammad Khan Chaudhry, member, AJK Legislative Assembly for Overseas Kashmiris in Britain, Ch. Mohammad Shaban, president, PPP Azad Kashmir, UK; Colonel M.K. Ghani (Retd) of Liberation League, Mohammad Sharif from Tehrik-e-Kashmir, and M. Sheraz from All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, UK, and Dr Ghulam Nabi Mir of WKFM.
Nabi Fai outlined fourth level of talks to approach the complex issue like Kashmir which was a matter of granting 13 million Kashmiris their born right decide their political future.
