The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President, Mian Anjum Nisar, in a statement issued here on Friday, has urged the district government to immediately withdraw the increase in the rate of professional tax.
He said that the rate of professional tax had been increased manifold without any justification. The decision had hit the garment, ice cream, ginning, carpet, chemical and artificial leather manufacturing units, marble and other industries.
He said that the domestic industries were already under the burden of as many as 40 different federal and provincial taxes. He urged the District Nazim, Mian Aamir Mahmood to immediately withdraw the increase made in professional tax.
