CBR urged to withdraw notices

All Pakistan Cottage Industries and Small Traders Association President and Zonal Chairman Pakistan Industrial & Traders Associations Front (Piaf), Ghulam Sarwar Malik has called upon the Federal Finance Minister and Chairman CBR to withdraw notices served in various markets upon traders for total audit so as to create an atmosphere of trust and understanding.
In a statement issued here on Friday Malik alleged that serving of total audit notices to traders was the violation of agreement made with the income tax commissioner.
He claimed that it had been decided that only five-percent cases would be selected through computer for total audit. But by using his discretionary powers, income tax commissioner was violating that agreement, he added.
