Multinet Broadband, Pakistan's largest Broadband Network Service Provider (NSP) Friday announced its expansion plan under which DSL connectivity would be provided to Peshawar, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Sialkot.
Adnan Asdar, Chief Executive of Multinet Broadband told newsmen here on Friday that his company has already offered high speed DSL links in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore and this service would be extended in 4 more cities in the next quarter.
He said that DSL is now the fastest growing Broadband technology and allows users to be connected to the Internet all the time. He claimed that Multinet is also Pakistan's first Broadband provider and one of the three legally qualified DSL license holders.
Adnan Asdar said: "we have planned to aggressively grow the DSL business in Pakistan and have planned to double the bandwidth and shifting over to the high quality fibber optic Flag backbone. Besides, addition of 4000 DSL ports capacity on state- of-the-art carrier class DSL equipment".
Within next few weeks, We are going to provide a large number of DSL connections on significantly cheaper rates. Afterwards we would go for wireless communication in the country, he added.
He complained that PTCL limited infrastructure is main hindrance in the growth of IT sector in Pakistan and added that if government facilitate the private sector, the public could receive better Internet services, he maintained.
