International Islamic University, Islamabad, (IIU), Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan (Retd) and State Islamic University of Indonesia (SIU) Vice Rector Professor Dr Masykuri Abdullah have agreed upon signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for enhanced co-operation between the two institutions.
On his visit to IIU, Dr Abdullah said the enhanced and meaningful co-operation between the two universities will pave way for the promotion of education and higher studies in the Muslim world.
He said that good working relations among Islamic and other universities of the Muslim world are essential for moving towards the destination of an educated, enlightened and prosperous Ummah.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan talked to the visiting dignitary about various study programmes in IIUI and offered full co-operation to strengthen relations between the two universities.
He said the IIU has the third largest number of Indonesian students, and will welcome more in any faculty. The IIU Rector presented a set of IIUI publications and insignia to the visiting dignitary.
Both sides were agreed to exchange faculty members and students, and sign a memorandum of understanding on the areas of co-operation soon.
Earlier, IIUI President Dr Hasan Mahmood Abdul Latif Al-Shafie, IIU Advisor Dr Ahmad Al-Assal and IIU Vice-President Dr Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi welcomed the visiting dignitary and exchanged views with him on a number of issues.
