ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) on Tuesday called an emergent meeting of the office bearers to condemn the recent kidnapping of Owais Ali Shah, Advocate, High Court and son of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Chief Justice, Sindh High Court.
Chairing the meeting, Vice-Chairman Barrister Dr. Farogh Naseem resolved that in this difficult time, the Pakistan Bar Council and the Lawyers' community of Pakistan stand with the Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and his family and pray for a safe and early release of his son Owais Ali Shah.
The Pakistan Bar Council has further deplored the law and order situation particularly in the province of Sindh, and has called upon the Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Corp Commander, Karachi, Lieutant General Naveed Mukhtar, D.G. Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar and I.G. Sindh A.D. Khawaja to ensure the safe and secure release of Owais and take steps so as to provide complete security to the Lawyers, Judges, their families and the Court premises in Sindh.
Similarly, recent murders of Lawyers in Punjab (i.e. in Gujrat and Pindi Bhattian) and Balochistan are condemned, and the persons responsible for such brutal murders may be apprehended and punished. Also the LEAs should provide complete security to the Lawyers, Judges, their families and the Court premises in entire country.
Other members of the PBC including Abdul Fayaz, ASC (Chairman, Executive Committee of the Pakistan Bar Council), Malik Ghulam Mustafa Kandwal and Muhammad Shoaib Shaheen (both learned Members of the Pakistan Bar Council) were also present on the occasion.
