Pakistan wants peaceful and just resolution of core issue of Indian occupied Kashmir which should be in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri masses, said former Ambassador of Pakistan, Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar.
Speaking in a PTV programme, he said Pakistan government time and again has explained its stance and problems being faced by Kashmiris.
He said, during the past 10 to 15 years Indian occupation troops have martyred about 90,000 Kashmiris and inhuman activities are being committed there to suppress Kashmiri movement.
Mushtaq Ahmed said, South Asian region is confronting a number of problems and just resolution of core issue of Indian occupied Kashmir will bring peace and progress to the regions.
He said Indian leadership should realise the situation as this in no way will be beneficial for the entire region. Former Ambassador also urged the world community to persuade Indian government so that Kashmiris can get their basic right of self-determination.
He said, President General Pervez Musharraf has shown boldness and took steps with open mind to tackle the core Indian occupied Kashmir issue.
Replying to a question, he said current world scenario is in favour of resolution of all world conflicts including Indian occupied Kashmir issue and Indian government should also move ahead with peace process as world community wants peaceful resolution of all issues.
He said, utmost efforts have been made by the government of Pakistan to highlight the Indian occupied Kashmir issue at different international fora.
