Some 4,000 unionised workers at Kumho Tire Co Inc, a leading South Korean tyre maker, went on full strike on Sunday, demanding higher wages and better working conditions, its labour union said.
"Some 4,200 workers at all of our three workplaces went on an indefinite strike today and the action will be withdrawn only when agreement with management is reached," a labour union official told Reuters by telephone.
Unionised workers at unlisted Kumho have staged four-hour strikes daily since June 1, the official said. The union will resume negotiations with management at 10 am (0100 GMT) on Monday, the official said.
