Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Plgmea) Chairman Fawad Ijaz Khan has said Pakistan will participate in MosLeather-2004 exhibition being held at Moscow from June 9 to 11, 2004.
In a statement here on Monday, he said that exhibitors from India, Italy and UK will also participate in the fair, while 14 leather exporters from Pakistan will display their high quality products in the exhibition.
The size of Russian Leather Garments market is over $1 billion, and it is second largest leather market after USA, he added.
Fawad said that official export of leather garments from Pakistan to Russia during July 2003 to March 2004 was $1.5 million, which was nearly five times more than exports during corresponding period last year.
The Plgmea chief hoped that after implementation of WTO regime there would be further reduction in customs duty by Russian authorities, which will increase the volume of official trade between the two countries.
