The contract signing ceremony for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning project of the Gurguri gas plant was held in the office of Presson Descon International Ltd (PDIL).
According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, the contract has been awarded by the Hungarian oil and gas company, MOL, operating in Pakistan. MOL has discovered a sizeable reserve in the Tal Block in Kohat District, south of Peshawar.
The Gurguri gas plant is a green field project and would have production capacity of 50 million standard cubic feet gas per day. The project will be completed by the end of 2004.
According to the press release, MOL is a leading European oil & gas company and is active in exploration & production refining & marketing in gas & power.
MOL's Managing Director Csaba Bokor, and Abdul Razak Dawood, a former Commerce Minister and Chairman of Descon Engineering were among those present on the occasion.
PDIL is a joint venture company of Canadian and Pakistani company Presson Enerflex and Descon Engineering and is playing a vital role in the oil & gas development projects. These projects would enhance the gas production in Pakistan.
PDIL has also been awarded another gas field development project in Sindh by a Malaysian company Petronas.
