The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) is planning to send a trade delegation to Iran.
This was stated by FPCCI President Riaz Ahmed Tata during a meeting with the Consul General of Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Mousa Hosseini, in the Federation House here.
Tata said the FPCCI was in contact with its counterpart, Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines, to know the suitable time for the visit of the Pakistani delegation.
He requested the Iranian Consul General to help fix the dates of the visit.
The Iranian Consul General promised to help in the matter, and said that a joint meeting of Pakistan-Iran Business Council during the visit would provide excellent opportunity to the businessmen and industrialists to discuss promotion of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Former President of FPCCI and Chairman, Pakistan-Iran Business Council, Tariq Sayeed, who was also present at the meeting, said that Iran, which had fairly well developed aqua culture, could send its experts and help Pakistan in developing aqua culture in the deeps around Gawadar Port. The Iranian Consul General promised to help in this matter also.
FPCCI Standing Committee on Information Technology (IT) the Vice-Chairperson Shahida Salim said that some high official of the Iranian Education Ministry had shown interest in seeking computer software developed for education sector in Pakistan.
She said the software companies in Pakistan were ready to offer help not only in education sector, but also in banking, textiles and healthcare.
