The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday put off to June 14, the proceedings in a petition filed by President People's Lawyers Forum (PLF) praying to the court to hold accountable military generals as well as judges.
The petitioner A K Dogar, while submitting his submissions on the point of maintainability of the petition contended that the LHC is competent to proceed with the petition against illegality of any person.
He contended that no body enjoys immunity and the superior courts are competent to proceed against the generals and judges also. He submitted that the respondent army generals plundered the public money and also subverted the Constitution of Pakistan.
He said that any person who subverted the constitution and plundered the public money is liable to be tried in accordance with the law. He was still submitting his submissions when the court rose for the day.
