Mutehida Talba Mahaz (MTM) will hold 'students convention' in Islamabad on June 21, in which representatives of students from over 56 public and private sector educational institutions would participate.
Nazim Islami Jamiat-e-Talba (IJT) Pakistan and Vice-President of MTM Zubair Ahmad Gondal told newsmen here on Wednesday that four committees had been constituted for holding the convention in a befitting manner.
President Muslim Students Federation (MSF) Rana Muhammad Arshad, Babar Farooq, Nasrullah, Sajid Namoos and other office bearers of MTM were also present on the occasion.
Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Maulana Fazal ur Rehman is likely to address the convention. The position holders of various universities, medical colleges and private sector institutions would be invited at the convention.
In the government sponsored convention, speakers failed to highlight the real students' issues while in MTM convention, deliberations will be made on vital issues including enhancement in fees, self-finance scheme, privatisation of educational institutions, students democratic rights and class-based education system etc.
President Supreme Court Bar Association, Tariq Mahmood would represent lawyers' community, while President of Academic Staff Association, Punjab University Iftikhar Baloch, Professor Arbab Afridi from Peshawar University, Dr Sarwar Nasim from Karachi University, Professor Shams-ud-din from Sindh University would represent the teachers community.
Former vice chancellors of prominent universities of the country would also attend the convention.
