Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Wednesday assured a special envoy of the Turkish President about Pakistan's continued support for the resolution of the Cyprus issue in accordance with the aspirations of the Turkish community in the island.
He gave this assurance during a meeting with Baki Ilkim who called on him here to convey the thanks and gratitude of the Turkish government for Pakistan's consistent support to their endeavours for resolving the ongoing problem in Cyprus.
Prime Minister Jamali expressed Pakistan's keen interest in further strengthening of relations between the two countries.
The special envoy conveyed the greetings of the Turkish President and Prime Minister. He reiterated the invitation extended by the Turkish Prime Minister to the Prime Minister Jamali for visiting Turkey.
It may be recalled that during the visit of the Turkish Prime Minister to Pakistan in June last year, it was decided to institute annual summit meeting between the Prime Ministers of the two countries.
In response to the invitation extended by his Turkish counterpart, Prime Minister Jamali may visit Turkey in the near future.
