Interior Minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat on Saturday said that camps and firing ranges of al Qaeda are present in the Shakai area.
Responding to points of orders raised by Opposition members in the Senate, he said the government is committed to wipe out these camps and foreign terrorists from the area.
While assuring the House that operation in Wana is being launched against foreign terrorists, he said the operation would continue to flush out these terrorist elements.
The Interior Minister said foreign terrorists hiding in Wana area are responsible for terrorist attacks in various parts of the country especially at the junction of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan and later in Quetta and Karachi.
These terrorists are also involved in attack on the convoy of Corps Commander, Karachi, he added.
Faisal Saleh Hayat said operation against foreign terrorists in various parts of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) would continue till the elimination of terrorists from the area.
Talking about Shakai Agreement, he informed the House that Maulana Miraj Din came to his office about fifteen days back and informed him about difficulties in the implementation of the Shakai Agreement due to the pressure of the foreigners staying in the Wana area.
Condemning attack on personnel of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) by terrorists causing loss of precious lives, the Minister said, "Attack on FC personnel was shocking for every one.
"The way the terrorists mutilated the bodies of martyred FC men proves that these terrorists are heartless cruel."
