Punjab University Vice Chancellor, Arshad Mahmood on Wednesday distributed cash prizes among the students of BS (Hons), MS and EMS class of the University Hailey College of Banking and Finance who won top three positions in essay contest titled 'Banking sector of Pakistan, challenges and promises', 'Exports and imports of Pakistan, prospects and challenges' and 'Change management' respectively.
Hina Qudoos of BS (Hons) class got first position, Hina Rukh stood second while Mannan Tahir got third position.
In the MS Banking and Finance class, Umer Arshad got first position; Muhammad Usman finished second while Syed Irfan Mahmood stood third. Among the students of EMS Banking and Finance class, Muhammad Umar Farooq got first position; Muhammad Nasir Khan stood second while Zahid Mahmood bagged third.
The first position holder was given cash prize worth Rs 5000/- second position holder get Rs 3,000 while third position holder get Rs 2,000.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor presided over trophies and medals award ceremony, organised by Punjab University Sports Committee. Addressing on the occasion, he highlighted the importance of sports, which build self-confidence and make balanced personality of young graduates.
Punjab College of Commerce Lahore with 124 points won the 'All Round Champion Trophy' in PU Inter-Collegiate Sports and Annual Athletic Championship of the session 2003-04.
Punjab College of Commerce Lahore was declared winner in swimming, handball, kabaddi, weightlifting, badminton, football, gymnastics, squash, body building, basket ball, rowing, tug of war, athletics and wrestling.
Government MAO College won the competition of hockey and cricket whereas Punjab University teaching departments got first position in table tennis and tennis; while University Law College won volleyball and rifle shooting competition.
