The Lahore High Court (LHC) has called for a report from Chief Secretary Punjab and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab within a fortnight in a petition filed by President Gujrat Bar Association challenging the posting of Raja Munawar as District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat.
The petitioner contended that the respondent Raja Munawar was posted as DPO Gujrat in violation of seniority rule. He submitted that the respondent was nominated accused judges killings in Sialkot jail and Special Court for Suppression of Terrorist Activities had already served a summon upon him.
He prayed to the court to declare his posting as DPO Gujrat as illegal, unconstitutional and without lawful authority.
The court, after hearing petitioner's counsel at length called for report from the respondent officials and rose for the day.
