Prime Minister's directive for holding national security workshop in mid-July

Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has directed the concerned authorities to hold the Fourth National Security Workshop in mid-July. Final programme will be conveyed to the organisers by the National Defence College (NDC).
According to the directives, issued by the Prime Minister's Secretariat on June 4, the intake will be 70 participants, ie, MNAs 17 members of the National Assembly, 12 members of the provincial assemblies and 12 Nazims drawn from all the four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Federally-administered Tribal Areas (FATA)/Capital.
Besides four bureaucrats/technocrats, two ambassadors-designate, five military officials, six industrialists, four media persons and three lawyers will be attending the workshop.
Thirty-three percent representation will be for the ladies in the Senate, National and provincial assemblies.
The NDC is conducting courses focusing on national security in the backdrop of evolving domestic, regional and global strategic environment.
During these courses, national security issues are debated thoroughly with a view to formulating strategies to enhance Pakistan's security by promoting and protecting national interests.
The purpose of the workshop is to enable all participants to interact freely and understand essential factors bearing on national security.
It further aims at enhancing comprehension of the need and methodology of integrating all elements of national power to achieve national interests/objectives.
The Prime Minister further directed the authorities that the nominations for the course be made from the industrial sectors from all the provinces, including the AJK and Northern areas, direct to the NDC.
