The Russian government has sold 2,100 tonnes of fourth class wheat on Tuesday at an intervention tender aimed at curbing prices, data supplied by exchanges in charge of the tenders showed.
However, the overall sales volumes remained unchanged, as a buyer had failed to pay for an equal amount of 2,100 tonnes of fourth class wheat, which will now have to be re-tendered, a National Commodities Exchange official told Reuters.
The total sold at tenders that began on February 18 is 1,539,411 tonnes, including 474,520 tonnes of third class food wheat, 783,786 tonnes of fourth class food wheat and 281,105 tonnes of milling rye.
