Haji Muhammad Yaqoob, member managing committee of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has assured the importers of paper that all the problems faced by them will soon be addressed.
Haji Yaqoob said that he has recently met with the Collector of Customs and other officials to resolve the issue of imposition of 15 percent Loading Duty on imported paper.
He further said that during the meeting with Customs official he has cleared that if the this unjustifiable imposition of duty was not waived off, it may cause huge loss to the importers of paper who consequently can approach the court for seeking of justice.
Haji Yaqoob who was accompanied by Shakeel Ahmed told that the Custom Official have assured them of every possible co-operation to resolve this issue.
He further informed that he has fixed a meeting of the members All Pakistan Paper Merchant Association on Thursday, 24th June 2004 to resolve this issue.
