KW&SB Managing Director Brigadier Iftikhar Hyder on Thursday called for improving the meter testing system and proper cleaning of chambers where meters are installed.
He issued the directive in this regard while talking to the officials and engineers of Meter Division during a visit to COD filter plant.
Brigadier Iftikhar emphasised that in order to check water wastage and theft, it is imperative to keep the meter system in order so that consumers may not have to face any problem.
He directed them that registers at the meter division be set right, and a complete record of meter repair and maintenance be kept.
It may be mentioned here that KW&SB Board supplies bulk water to DHA, Site areas, industrial areas of Korangi-Landhi, FB Area and North Karachi, Federal Capital Area and commercial and industrial consumers of other areas through meters and billing of water supplied is carried out accordingly.
Later, the KW&SB chief visited the Liaquat National Hospital and areas which are linked with metered water supply.
