Chairman of Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Tuesday said that Jamali's resignation will hurt the democratic process.
He made these remarks while speaking in the National Assembly after the ascertainment of leader of the House.
Fahim said that Mir Zafarullah Jamali was forced to resign, showing how weak democracy is in Pakistan. He maintained that the whole nation is very much aware how he (Jamali) resigned.
Commenting on the National Security Council (NSC), he said that the NSC is a supra-parliament institution, which is and will never be acceptable to the opposition parties.
Fahim opined that dictatorship is badly hurting the democracy in the country and the formation of the NSC is a clear manifestation of it.
He congratulated Pakistan Muslim League president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain for his election as the parliamentary leader.
Shujaat Hussain and Makhdoom Amin Fahim had one-on-one contest for ascertainment of leader of the House in the National Assembly.
Amin Fahim said that there are lots of hardships for political parties, which are working on their principled agendas.
"I congratulate all the political parties who are working for the restoration of democracy and supremacy of the parliament despite all these hardships," he added.
Expressing his views about deteriorating law and order situation in the country, he was hopeful that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain would focus on the improvement of law and order situation.
Amin Fahim also criticised the government for not allowing central leaders of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal including Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Qazi Hussain Ahmed to enter Karachi.
He also condemned the government for not bringing PML-N acting president Javed Hashmi to the parliament. He also expressed his anger over the murder of Peer Binyamin in Lahore.
