The Chief Minister Sindh, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that government employees are servants of people and they should fully take part in social service by solving the problems of people with honesty, truthfulness and sincerity.
He was addressing a gathering of Sindh officers of Grade 18-22 at Chief Minister House here on Friday.
Arbab said government officers should have their allegiance to country and nation, and provide relief to people without any political discrimination or affiliation.
The Chief Minister said that overall, the entire system in Sindh and its institutions have destroyed and various evils have enveloped the society, which have to be rectified and improved. If these were not reformed then we all are going to suffer, he cautioned.
Arbab said those raising the slogan of Jeeay Sindh, are practically playing no significant role for the progress and prosperity of Sindh while we will continue to raise our voice everywhere for the rights of Sindh.
The Chief Minister clearly announced that that he would make vigorous efforts at the federal level for the rights of Sindh because the centre has to do justice with all the four provinces.
Dr Arbab directed that whatever orders he would issue, the same should be fully complied with.
"No matter I may remain Chief Minister for few days, but I would try to improve the system in Sindh".
He made it clear that whatever policies he would give he will get them implemented also. He will respect the good officers and give them good posting.
Pointing out that it is a democratic period, the Chief Minister said that people would bring pressures out of many expectations. But he would request the friends and politicians, not to bring political pressure because instead of accepting pressure he would prefer to choose another alternatives.
The Chief Minister said that honest, hard working and people-friendly officers will be given due credit while action will be taken against inefficient, lethargic and incapable officers.
Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim pledged to make all-out efforts for elimination of corruption and said instead of protocol, he would prefer direct contact with people.
The Chief Minister said that he and the Governor together would continue their efforts for solving the problems of people. He nullified all impressions and said they have good relationship.
Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Governor, who specially attended the meeting at Chief Minister's special invitation, said that by summoning this meeting, Dr Arbab has taken an important step and has very well highlighted the government policies and programme.
Dr Ishratul Ibad said the focal point of policies propagated by the Chief Minister would help augment the cause of good governance.
He declared that no one would be allowed to tamper with the law and order situation in Sindh and the provincial government will have his full support.
Earlier in his opening speech, Sindh Chief Secretary Mohammed Aslam Sanjrani assured the Chief Minister that all government officers would carry out the policies in shoulder to shoulder with the government.
He held out an assurance on behalf of administration and officers that "we would do our job with honesty, loyalty and efficiency".
Maulana Tariq Jamil, a noted elderly religious leader, while speaking in the light of Islamic teachings urged that Muslims should work with honesty and truthfulness. He said the Muslims should avoid lying, build-up the habit of offering prayers and help solve the problems of people.
Provincial Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed, and MPAs Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Nadir Akmal Leghari, Shoaib Bukhari, Shabbir Qaimkhani, Rauf Siddiqi, Mir Manzoor Panhwar, Adil Siddiqi, Arif Mustafa Jatoi, Chaudhry Iftikhar, Qamar Mansoor, Mir Naseer Khoso, Dr Sohrab Sarki, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Provincial Secretaries and officers of various departments were also present on the occasion.
