Supreme Court Chief Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui will swear in Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar as acting Chief Election Commissioner for a month on Monday morning here.
Justice Dogar will work in place of Justice Irshad Hassan Khan who is leaving on Sunday for Cambridge to attend a seminar on 'Electoral Democracy' until Friday, and then will proceed on 26 days leave abroad.
Justice Dogar will hold the office till August 3.
During this period the most important work for Justice Dogar to do would be completion of ground work for by-election to the National Assembly from Tharparker I and Attock III seats whose incumbents have resigned making way for Shaukat Aziz to contest election to become eligible for the office of Prime Minister.
