India has nearly completed fencing the LoC in occupied Kashmir to stop alleged incursions by Mujahideen.
The fence covers 500-km of the 740-km LoC dividing Kashmir between the nuclear-armed neighbours. The rest of the frontier is too inaccessible to fence.
"In view of the fencing along the Line of Control getting completed terrorist organisations are trying to push in as many terrorists as possible," occupation Indian army spokesman Colonel Mukhtar Singh told reporters.
"As a result, the troops on the Line of Control are in a state of high alert."
Singh was speaking in Sonapindi Post, an outpost on the cease-fire line in Kupwara district, with the bodies of three (suspected) Mujahideen lying at a distance. He claimed soldiers had foiled an infiltration bid on Saturday and killed the three.
Peace moves between the nuclear neighbours have gained momentum recently, but violence in the occupied Kashmir continues unabated.
