Saudi Arabia has expressed full satisfaction over the security arrangements made by the Pakistani authorities to guard the diplomatic enclaves.
Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Ali Saeed Awadh Asseri stated this while speaking to journalists here at a dinner hosted by Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Member Human Rights, Spain in the honour of Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat on Thursday night.
The Saudi Consulate in Karachi was closed on Wednesday due to a suicide attack threat by terrorists.
Replying to a query about the security threats, Ali Asseri admitted that they were receiving security threats but Pakistani government has assured them to provide maximum security.
"We are grateful to Pakistani authorities for providing us maximum security," he acknowledged and added that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have cordial relations based on faith and these will further strengthen with the passage of time.
Welcoming the peace-dialogue between India and Pakistan, Asseri said that Saudi Arabia would play its effective role in resolving all the disputes between both the countries.
Ali Saeed Awadh said, "we encourage the dialogues between India and Pakistan. The will is there and great progress has been made. We are very happy."
He urged both countries to continue the process of dialogue as it would lead them towards a peaceful resolution of all disputes.
When asked about the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan regarding the exile of Sharif family from Pakistan, the ambassador said, "it is Pakistan's internal matter and I am not in a position to comment on it because all this happened before my appointment to Pakistan," he further added.
He went on to say that Saudi Arabia is home for every Pakistani and Nawaz Sharif and his family is also our guest and best hospitality will be provided to them.
To another query, ambassador said that Saudi Arabia would welcome every pilgrim who comes there to perform Haj or Umrah adding that best security arrangements will be made.
To a question about Osama bin Ladin's presence in Pakistan, he refused to comment and said that this question must be directed towards Pakistani authorities.
When inquired about his (Osama) presence in Saudi Arabia, he made it clear that every terrorist would be defeated there. "I assure you, each and every terrorist will be defeated at our soil," he pledged.
He maintained that unfortunately all Muslim countries are suffering from terrorism as al Qaeda has created more problems for Muslim Ummah. "Terrorists have no religion but we should not allow them to abuse Islam," he asserted.
