Farheen Chaudhry - Pani Peh Naam

Farheen Chaudhry is new writer. She has now come up with a 13-episode serial Pani Peh Naam for PTV. For a long time she has worked on her writing skills and has been attempting plays, short stories and skits.
Farheen has a background in literary work. Though to name a few of her works would be appropriate but at this stage when she is coming up with an adapted play for PTV, it would amount to putting her under pressure of her past performance for which she may not be ready. At times working under pressure adversely affects the quality of writing.
Only one slip at a crucial stage of a play gets it out of shape and the entire fabric of a story line makes it difficult to cut scenes according to size and liking of the viewers. The commercial angles also get hurt.
It is difficult to say to what extent the play is adapted from Daniel Steel's novel 'Malice' or to what extent this serial will be an "influence effect' of the Steel's work. But generally her work is being rated as a "balanced and reasonably nearer to the content of the novel". The story revolves round an orphan girl, second husband of her widowed mother, her encounters with young men and then developing fancy for a rich young man and so on and so forth. She fights against the odds that her fate as well as the society places in her way to find out a peaceful living. During the course she succeeds in collecting a few women to support her. It is a story of courage, determination and romance with the realities of life. This serial is a star-studded production and includes Izhar Qazi, Sadia Imam, Ishmal, Mehmood Akhtar, Farhana Maqsood, Naveed Raana, Shehzad Agha, Rashida Yaqub, Agha Sajjad, Hasan Soomro, Hanif Mehmood and others. Kazim Pasha is responsible for its direction.
There is a feeling that Farheen would prove a welcome addition to the glittering world of show business. She would have to be careful in selecting subjects as well as frequency with which to write for commercial gains.
Her work would be seen along with Mahpara and a Sindhi play Rajbhag as the Urdu speaking viewers also watch Sindhi plays and a popular music programme Naghmazar. She will have to attract choosy viewers toward her work.
