The real Prime Minister in the parliamentary system is the leader of the largest party in parliament, any others become ineffective as we have seen in the case of Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, having no loyalty to his political.
His Cabinet Ministers were not under his command, they did and said whatever they liked on various issues.
Zafarullah Jamali proved himself an ineffective Prime Minister, although he did all possible to please the President, accepting him publicly his boss and even accepting the taunt of being the PSO to the President.
Jamali instead of depending on the parliament for his continuance in office depended on the President, although for the first time in the parliamentary history, the opposition in parliament offered its support to the Prime Minister but Jamali's low key approach was his undoing.
He was unable to win the hearts of the general public and could not develop his office into an independent source of authority.
Jamali's resignation will be seen by many as President General Musharraf's failure too because he handpicked Jamali which could only last 19 months.
How the President considers who is the best educated? Who has a good background, good health and charisma?
Who understands the issues inspirations of the people of Pakistan? Who is most presentable nationally and internationally?
Who can set a target and objective for the nation to achieve in a specific period of time, who can speak clearly to the people in their language?
Musharraf's own policies and choice of friends are responsible for the exit of Jamali. Only 24 hours before resigning Jamali had said publicly that he had no intention of resigning, as nobody has asked him to do so but when Jamali was called in by his boss who asked him to resign, he acceded to the order of the boss.
What was discussed between the Prime Minister and the President over lunch? Do the citizens of Pakistan have the right to know or only the two would know?
Why was Jamali picked up in the first place? It is the question General Musharraf can explain because he was having no political clout!
Then what political lobby and supporters are with Shaukat Aziz? For how long will the game of musical chair will be played in the land of the pure by the establishment?
How long the people of Pakistan will have to wait for real democracy?
For how long the politicians with a stained past will remain the holder of political power?
For how long the country will be controlled through these politicians whose files are in NAB for heavy bank loans written off?
