Former Philippine first lady Imelda Marcos lost her battle to stop a film about her colourful life being shown in the Philippines on Monday when a regional court lifted an injunction against its screening.
Lawyers for the film distributors said the court's ruling was issued before the widow of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos released a statement saying said she would give up the case in recognition of the Philippine people's right of freedom.
Marcos won a court order last month temporarily stopping the screening of the award-winning documentary.
But the court reversed its decision to grant a temporary injunction against the showing of the film after earlier saying it had found reasonable grounds in Marcos's contention that the film was unfair to her and she had been deceived.
