It is a source of great pleasure for me to congratulate the government and people of France on Bastille Day.
Pakistan has multi-facet relations with France in various fields of political, economic, defence, cultural, and commercial domains.
In recent times, the people of Pakistan deeply appreciate contribution of France towards enhancing a dialogue and understanding between Muslim countries and the West and to explore possibilities to strengthen world peace and promote political and economic collaboration between them.
Pakistan France Business Alliance is endeavouring to promote economic ties between the private sectors of France and Pakistan.
A delegation of PFBA participated in the Investment Conference held in Paris on 03 July 2003 in the presence of President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf.
This conference was a huge success and contributed mainly towards motivating major French companies to look towards Pakistan as a potential location of investment.
We are happy to note that a major French oil company TOTAL has undertaken, under licence from government of Pakistan, offshore exploration near Karachi.
French multinationals such as Alcatel, Servier, Alstom (ARREVA), Avantis, Rhodia, LU Biscuits are already working in Pakistan and have local production units.
France is a major destination for Pakistani textile and leather garments exports. Pakistani consumers highly appreciate the quality and excellence of French products like cosmetics, perfumes, pharmaceuticals and home appliances are concerned.
The people of Pakistan greatly value French cultural heritage and contributions of France on the international stage towards promotion of justice and enlightenment in the world.
We wish the French nation great success in its endeavours and sincerely hope that the relationship between Pakistan and France will now attain new heights."
