His Excellency Pierre Charasse, Ambassador of France in Pakistan, and his excellency Mr Jean Yues Berthault, Consul General of France in Pakistan, I take immense pleasure in extending my very warm felicitations and congratulations on this Bastille Day, on the Fourteenth of July, which is the French symbol of the end of the Monarchy and the beginning of the First Republic.
The national holiday is a time when all citizens can feel themselves to be members of a republican nation.
Our two countries have always enjoyed good relations. Undoubtedly, noting with satisfaction, the significant developments in the friendly and co-operative relations between Pakistan and France, we are confident that these relations will be further strengthened to the mutual benefit of our two countries in the years ahead.
Our nations are bound together not only by friendship, but also by our mutual dedication to the defence of democracy.
We take pride in the accomplishments due to your personal efforts, by the two countries and for working to make our strategic partnership ever stronger. We expect this to substantially improve in times to come.
Once again, I take this opportunity to pay my heartfelt complements to you on the National Day of France.
