Pakistan should approach the Indian government for releasing water in River Sutlej so that thousands acres of fertile land of Cholistan desert, Bahawalnagar, Fort Abbas, Chistian, Hasilpur, Rahimyar Khan, Bahawalpur, Liaquatpur, Yazman, Lodhran, and Kherpur Tamewali could be brought under plough, said Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, MNA.
"We should talk to India for the releasing of water in rivers of Chenab, Sutlej and Biyas because a vast area turned barren after Indus Water Treaty in 60s between Pakistan and India", Pirzada said.
He also said India should also open the route of Bahawalnagar like past so that people of southern zone could easily visit neighbouring Indian districts to see their relatives and friends.
Mian Riaz Pirzada said both countries can promote tourism by opening rail and road route from Bahawalnagar.
