Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Shaukat Sultan has denied the reports regarding casualties of army personals in Wana.
"On Monday an army vehicle was damaged because of an blast of an explosive device. As a result some 'jawans' (soldiers) sustained injuries but no army personnel was killed", he clarified while talking to BBC Radio.
He also denied the impression that security forces were facing tough resistance in the area.
He said that the contingents of Frontier Corps (FC) and political administration on Monday took control of whole Shakai valley and on Tuesday the army contingents had entered into the area.
He said the Shakai valley, earlier stated to be the base of terrorists had then been under full control of the security forces.
He said the isolated incidents of firing at the security forces were taking place only from some places in the north of Shakai.
To a question he said the war against terrorism was a lengthy process and overnight results of such a campaign were not possible.
"It is a lengthy works and needs sufficient time," he said adding patience was also needed for such works. It was not a simple task. He said the miscreants had been mixed with the local population therefore, the local population sometimes also suffered losses.
