Major General Taj-ul-Haq has been appointed as ambassador of Pakistan to Ukraine, said a notification issued here on Sunday.
Major General Taj-ul-Haq, presently serving as Commander Defence Service Guard Corp at GHQ, was born on September 1, 1948 and got commissioned in the Pakistan Army in May 1969.
He holds Master's degree in War and Strategy Studies from the Quaid-e-Azam University and held various important commands including instructional and staff appointments.
Taj had also commanded two infantry Brigades including 323 Bridge deployed at Siachen.
Taj-ul-Haq had served as Defence and Army Attaches at Pakistan Embassy, Beijing from March 1995 to October 1997 and has been awarded "People Liberation Army" (PLA) Commemoration Medal (August 1st Medal) by the Chinese Government.
He served for three years, from March 2000 to February 2003, as Inspector General Frontier Corps NWFP and had a major contribution in "war against terrorism.
