The action which commenced early morning of July 18 on the request of the locals of Miami tribe of Santoi and Malik Shah tribe of Mantoi valley is still continuing and most of the heights around these valleys have been secured by the security forces with the full co-operation of the locals.
According to a ISPR press release, the miscreants are believed to have suffered 3 dead and 6 wounded. Reportedly for the past about seven to ten days miscreants hiding in mountains of Santoi and Mantoi, north of Shakai valley, approximately 15 km north-east of Wana have been carrying out unprovoked firing on security forces using free flight/unguided rockets and mortar fire. Both these weapons being highly inaccurate caused no damage to the security forces, however some of these rockets had been falling on populated areas, causing causalities to innocent civilians.
Resultantly two young boys on one day and three men on another embraced Shahadat.
As these miscreants had become a nuisance for the locals of Santoi and Mantoi valley, who approached the local of Shakai who had co-operated With Security Forces for opening of the valley and requested that security Forces push out the miscreants from their area which warranted the necessity of this action.
