A member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association has filed a petition, praying the court to direct the respondent government to constitute a commission to probe into the Kargil issue.
The petitioner, M. D. Tahir contended that Kargil was an issue of great national importance, which could have resulted into a full-fledge war with India, putting the safety and security of the country at stake.
He therefore prayed to the court to direct the respondent to constitute a commission headed by the three retire judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, two retire army generals, the President of Supreme Court Bar Association and the petitioner.
