Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Friday joined thousands of faithful and offered Juma prayers at the Masjid-e-Nabvi (SAW).
The prime minister and members of his delegation prayed for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and the collective well being of all Muslims. A large number of Pakistanis were among thousands of Muslims from various parts of the world, who said Juma prayers at Masjid-e-Nabvi (SAW).
After the prayers, a number of Pakistanis gathered around Prime Minister Shujaat and greeted him.
The prime minister earlier paid his respects to last of the prophets Hazrat Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) at the Roza-e-Rasool (SAW), late Thursday night.
As an honour, the inner gates leading to the Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) were opened for the prime minister and members of his delegation.
The delegation offered Nawafil (prayers) at Riaz-ul-Jannah and near the place where Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to lead the prayers in Masjid-e-Nabvi (SAW).
Prime Minister Shujaat prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country and the Ummah.
Later, he and his entourage offered Nawafil and prayed to Allah Almighty for showering his blessings.
The grand mosque of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a marvel of architectural design and awesome beauty visited by millions of Muslims from across the globe.
A large number of Pakistanis, who were at the Roza-e-Rasool, gathered outside the mosque and waved to the prime minister, who was on his first visit abroad since assuming charge of his office.
The delegation members also visited the Jannat-ul-Baqeeh and the nearby Ziarat.
The premier's entourage comprises Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad, Minister for Religious Affairs Ijaz-ul-Haq, Minister for Health Nasir Khan, Minister for Communications Babur Ghouri, Minister of State for Environment Major Tahir (Retd), Minister of State for Culture Rais Munir, provincial ministers, parliamentarians and senior government officials.
