Government of Punjab has directed to spend Rs 80 million for construction of two new hostels at Punjab University.
The orders to this effect were issued in a meeting of Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi with a delegation of Punjab University students as well as academic association here on Friday. Acting Vice-chancellor Professor Azhar Ikram was also present on the occasion.
Apprising the students that three new buses would cater for their transportation need from university hostels after every 10 minutes, Pervaiz told the delegation that a service road would also be built along canal route. On the occasion he also instructed Director General LDA to provide sewerage, roads and other infrastructure in university employees' colony.
