This is with reference to an article "Significance of water issue in Sindh situation" by Umar Latif to whom I wish to offer my thanks through your paper for an enlightening presentation of the Sindh province and the damage caused by incorrect and irresponsible actions by people in authority.
I take this opportunity to suggest to the government that once recognised as the largest fresh water lake in Asia, the Manchar Lake, which has been damaged by WAPDA through the effluent of the R.B.O.D, can be and should be converted into a fresh water storage dam to ensure water supply to at least middle and lower Sindh, mainly the Kotri Barrage Command.
This also is the solution to bring in the most important understanding between the provinces for building bigger dams in upper reach of the Indus River.
