Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Embassy of Pakistan, Washington DC, has arrived in Boston on a four-day visit, to attend the Democratic National Convention, on invitation of the National Democratic Institute (NDI).
Mohammad Sadiq told APP, on arrival, that he would be available for meeting Pakistani-American delegates, on the sidelines of the Convention.
Meanwhile, a NDI press release issued on Saturday said, "as part of its mission to strengthen and expand democracy world-wide," NDI will bring together in Boston more than 500 senior government officials, parliamentarians, ambassadors, and political party leaders from over 100 nations during the Democratic National Convention.
These distinguished leaders will participate in a July 25 to 29 programme to study the US political process and international affairs.
The International Leaders Forum (ILF) offers world leaders a unique opportunity to informally exchange ideas and information with their counterparts from other countries.
The international Leaders Forum is part of NDI's ongoing programme to provide world leaders with comparative insights into various democratic systems. It has been a feature of every Democratic Party Convention since 1984.
The ILF participants will attend a timely series of panels led by Republicans and Democrats on US politics and domestic policy issues, and international affairs.
Members of Congress and other elected officials, journalists and election experts will lead these bi-partisan discussions, held in the mornings before the convention proceedings.
