The provincial Home Department has cautioned people to remain careful on Friday for fear of terrorist attacks on places of worships.
In a press note issued on Thursday the Home Department said, "It has been learnt through reliable sources that some activists of terrorist organisations/defunct Lashkar-e-Jhangvi are planning to carryout suicidal bomb attacks expectedly on Friday, July 30, 2004, in Imambargahs/mosques by using explosives filled briefcases/thermos or lunch boxes and for this purpose they may utilise the services of women as well."
The Home Department has asked the people as well as the management of these places of worships to take necessary precautionary measures to ward off the nefarious designs of terrorists and disgruntled elements.
The government had already directed the police and law-enforcement agencies to take all appropriate security steps in this regard.
